  5. Hydraulic System: The hydraulic system moves the moving head to press and open the row of filter plates.
  6. Overhead Beam: A structure that hangs above the filter plates and supports the automatic opening system.

Working Principles

  1. Filling: Slurry is pumped into the filter press through the inlet. The liquid flows through the filter cloth, leaving solids that accumulate inside the filter plate chambers.
  2. Filtration: As the pressure inside the chamber increases, the liquid passes through the filter cloth and exits through the outlet as clean filtrate. The remaining solids form a cake on the filter cloth.
  3. Compression: After filtration, the hydraulic system presses the filter plates tighter to squeeze out any remaining liquid from the cake.
  4. Cake Discharge: After the compression process, the moving head is retracted by the hydraulic system, opening the space between the filter plates. The automatic overhead beam system helps pull the filter plates one by one, allowing the cake to fall due to gravity or with the aid of a vibration system.
  5. Washing: In some applications, the filter press is equipped with a washing system to clean the cake or filter cloth between cycles.
